MERGE Radio shows on Resonance 104.4fm plus Daboriginals


MERGE RADIO SHOWS

MERGE collaborated with Resonance fm to produce 4 hour-long programmes that featured artists, musicians and performers from the festival. Artists talked about their work, musicians played live, with discussions on topics such as history, digital art and engineering. 

 

Resonance 104.4fm is the world’s first radio art station, established by London Musicians’ Collective. It started broadcasting in 2002 to provide a radical alternative to the universal formulae of mainstream broadcasting. It features programmes made by musicians, artists and critics who represent the diversity of London’s arts scenes.

In celebration of the launch of innovative new 24/7 broadcast platform Resonance Extra ( extra.resonance.fm ) and Resonance FM’s imminent launch on DAB Digital Radio in London, Resonance FM and Merge Festival presented esteemed international sound
artists and boundary-pushing performers in a ex-factory building in Southwark.

In celebration of the launch of innovative new 24/7 broadcast platform Resonance Extra ( extra.resonance.fm ) and Resonance FM’s imminent launch on DAB Digital Radio in London, Resonance FM and Merge Festival presented esteemed international sound artists and boundary-pushing performers in a ex-factory building in Southwark. This series of live music featured Hidden Orchestra’s fusion of visionary nu-jazz and electronica; Tokyo performance art duo Group A and last year’s palpable underground hit HOLOVR (Opal Tapes). The celebration promoted new local and international talent in an intimate setting at pop-up arts venue Platform Southwark.

This series of live music featured Hidden Orchestra’s fusion of visionary nu-jazz and electronica; Tokyo performance art duo Group A ; Berlin audio flaneur RKSS (Reject & Fade); and last year’s palpable underground hit HOLOVR (Opal Tapes). The celebration promoted new local and international talent in an intimate setting at pop-up arts venue Platform Southwark

Resonance 104.4fm is the world’s first radio art station, established by London Musicians’ Collective. It started broadcasting in May 2002 to provide a radical alternative to the universal formulae of mainstream broadcasting. Resonance 104.4fm features programmes made by musicians, artists and critics who represent the diversity of London’s arts scenes, with regular weekly contributions from nearly 200 musicians, artists, thinkers, critics, activists and instigators; plus numerous unique broadcasts by artists on the weekday “Clear Spot”.
