Sunday 29th September 19.30 – 23.00
Location: Southwark Playhouse, 77-85 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BD
For one night only! Sunday 29th of September Southwark Playhouse will host a unique musical experience with cutting-edge, underground and world-famous musical performances that take place anonymously in the pitch black. There will be two performances. Artists will perform bespoke pieces of unreleased and/or specially created music inspired by the environment and exclusive to the event.
Blackout is a concept designed to advance new applications of art, science and technology within the realm of public entertainment and to give both live and online audiences a fresh and completely novel musical experience. Participating parties are strongly encouraged to push themselves into new artistic territory, creating unique performances, collaborations or experimenting with new technologies and environments. Live shows feature hand selected TED-style talks given anonymously by some of the world’s greatest minds.
Blackout’s anonymity provides a rare opportunity for artists to present their work away from the commercial pressures usually imposed by audience, labels and press.
About:
Blackout is created by young artists/musicians Sam Potter & Andrew Faley in collaboration with members of TEDxNottingham, Horizon Digital Economic Research and events organisers Eat Your Own Ears (EYOE) & Dollop.
