MERGE 2014
This year MERGE collaborated with The Nursery Theatre Festival. A programme of new theatre, music and improvisation that showcased emerging talent.
Chaired by Dan Glaser, with special guest speakers, Charles Nduka and Diarmuid Kelley. This was a unique opportunity for both artists and scientists to explore ideas in the Gordon Museum of Pathology.

British conceptual artists Bompas and Parr created an installation that fused cutting edge science, art and spirituality. A multimedia séance that played on both the technological and supernatural world at the Kirkaldy Testing Museum.

Experimental sound performances was brought to you by The Science Gallery at King’s College London, part of their ongoing Frequencies programme.
Fractured Visions will provide viewers with a unique emotional and experiential perspective on how the world can look through different eyes.
MERGE collaborated with Resonance 104.4fm, producing 6 x 1 hour programs featuring artists, musicians and performers from the festival. Artists talked about their work, musicians played live and we explored the history of Southwark and its ghosts.
Rory More plays live in the Market Hall on Saturday 20th September to help kick start the 1000 year celebration for Borough Market.
The Caravan Theatre was programmed by Robin Steegman. Brilliant performances were held in an intimate setting of a 70’s gold Safari caravan, where four audience members at a time could experience a unique 15 minute theatrical experience.
Artist Ruth Ewan will begin an ongoing research project, considering the past and present political and social significance of bread.
A Pound of Flesh is a life size building made from wax that will melt to the ground during the festival. This project is part of Bankside transformed and celebrates the history of an old candle making factory which was based in Bankside a couple of centuries ago. Not long to go now!
Outstanding exhibition brought to MERGE by British visual artist Peter William Holden. It combined art and music with science via robotic engineering.
As part of Bankside Transformed, Candy Chang posed various psychological questions on the pavements around Bankside with stencils and temporary spray chalk.
